Navigating the Nightmares: A Faith Journey Through Vivid Dreams and Overcoming Fear
A Morning Disturbed by Vivid Dreams
Do you ever have a dream so vivid you wake up completely shaken? I certainly have and have had many dreams that were out of this world. I’ve always been a very vivid dreamer and my dreams appear as if I were awake to how detailed and real, they are. My intention for this morning was to get up early and focus on this blog and accomplish things while my family slept and to start a new habit. But this dream has me out of sorts and I can’t seem to focus on anything. So, what better way then to write about it and to ease my mind and maybe this will help you kick fear in the butt too!
The Gift or Curse of Vivid Dreams
I have always dreamt very vividly, I’m not sure why and I can recall most of my dreams. I know very few people like me that has this ability. Is this a gift or a curse? I’m not sure. This dream has me filled with questions and some fear. My journey through my faith is ever evolving and learning and when I have a dream such as this one it truly brings on a level of fear of what’s to come and that I’m not worthy enough or worth saving. If your curious of what this dream was and why my fear has kicked in, let me explain it here.
The Dream that Unveiled Fears
Setting the scene. My family and I had a house with a locked iron gate in a city. I believe it was Chicago because I was thinking, I would never live here (I’m not a fan of cities, nothing against Chicago). The neighbor across the street stopped over and I went to high school with her, and she inquired why I haven’t reached out yet and I said I’m sorry, I’ve been so busy but will soon! The next day I was in a sleeping bag across the street near her place on the sidewalk due to her advice. I was cold but thought this will be interesting, I’m lying on the sidewalk in the city but once I looked up, I felt it was worth it. It was so quiet, and I was cold, and blankets appeared, and I yelled to her thank you. She came out as I was looking at the sky, viewing the stars in between the brick row of buildings, they were so bright and twinkling and more and more appeared. There were very little streetlamps to allow you to see so many stars. I looked around and I saw chemtrails failing towards the buildings and thought, great now I’m going to be poisoned with those toxins and as they fell, they were transforming into what appeared as Chinese or some other language in words. All of a sudden, this electric surge hit the top of the trees across the street from the top of the canopy all the way down to the road, surging downward making them appear bright as the current headed to the roots. This went from tree to tree across the street and then on my side of the street. I was getting nervous because I was laying right next to a smaller tree. The surge didn’t happen to my tree thankfully and my friend got up and pointed a remote towards the road and a large movie screen dropped out of nowhere and met the road. The screen in the middle cracked and split part way up with fire and a scene showed on the screen of red and darkness that was eerie with a path leading from the street onto the screen as if they were joined. Where it led wasn’t fully shown, all I could see was darkness and red airy fog, almost like fire but no fire was actually present. It wasn’t a path I wanted to take but I was transfixed on what was happening. I’ve never had a phone in a dream but this time I did for some reason and started to record what I was seeing. The path on both sides fell away to cliffs and people out of nowhere as if partly physical beings started to walk towards the screen and onto the path. I was very scared and nervous; I wasn’t sure what I was witnessing. Next, I saw out of my house gate a person in a glowing long white robe with long blonde wavy hair, carrying a bright white lantern and many children around them. I couldn’t tell if my children were with them or not. I couldn’t make out a face if this person was female or male. They were ushering the children down the path, and they were the last ones to enter. I’m not sure what I heard next, but someone yelled the doors are closing. And that was it. The next thing I know I’m in a classroom and it was as if we were reviewing what we had witnessed like it was a movie, but it was real too. And someone said not many people went there and I recall saying the Bible said only 100,000 are taken. If I recall the Bible uses the number 140,000. And I recall either saying or thinking I truly hope that number isn’t accurate as there are so many more innocent people that should be saved and believers that should be as well. And I felt only the truly innocent ones were taken and thought we are all sinners. Having a dream such as this when you wake up leaves a person quite shaken.
Faith is Still Strong
Has it shaken my faith? No, I still believe but it has brought in a sense of fear that I may not be saved, or I’m not worthy enough or more so, my children. Fear clouds our mind and I do not want to live in fear. I release this fear. I will not allow this fear to cause confusion. The Bible provides comforting and powerful verses to help us overcome fear and anxiety. Here are some Scripture passages that address fear:
Isaiah 41:10: Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
2 Timothy 1:7: For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
1 John 4:18: There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.
Psalm 34:4: I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears.
Joshua 1:9: Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
Proverbs 29:25: The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe.
Remember that the term “fear not” is stated in the Bible 365 times, which coincidentally aligns with the number of days in a year. When facing fear, turn to God’s Word for comfort, strength, and peace. Let us pray:
“God, in this chaotic world, fear often overwhelms us. When life becomes too much, help us come to You. Calm our thoughts and emotions, and open our hearts to Your peace, comfort, and wisdom. Reduce our feelings of fear and anxiety. May we rest in You and trust You as we navigate through this broken world. In Your Name, we pray. Amen.”
Psalms 23:4:“Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”

Salvation and Trusting God’s Plan
It also has brought in the question of salvation, which I need to remember that God has the power to still the storm of doubt that I’m facing and will rescue me. I put my trust in Him and reject my fearful thoughts.
Proverbs 3:5-7: Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding; in all your ways know him, and he will make your paths straight. Don’t be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and turn away from evil.
Isaiah 43:1-2: Now this is what the Lord says—the one who created you, Jacob, and the one who formed you, Israel— “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you and the rivers will not overwhelm you, When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched and the flame will not burn you.”
2 Corinthians 10:3–5: For although we live in the flesh, we do not wage war according to the flesh, since the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but are powerful through God for the demolition of strongholds. We demolish arguments and every proud thing that is raised up against the knowledge of God, and we take every thought captive to obey Christ.
2 Corinthians 6:2: For he says: “At an acceptable time I listened to you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.” See, now is the acceptable time; now is the day of salvation!”
Luke 7:36–50: Then one of the Pharisees invited him to eat with him. He entered the Pharisee’s house and reclined at the table. And a woman in the town who was a sinner found out that Jesus was reclining at the table in the Pharisee’s house. She brought an alabaster jar of perfume and stood behind him at his feet, weeping, and began to wash his feet with her tears. She wiped his feet with her hair, kissing them and anointing them with the perfume. When the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, “This man, if he were a prophet, would know who and what kind of woman this is who is touching him—she’s a sinner!” Jesus replied to him, “Simon, I have something to say to you.” He said, “Say it, teacher.” “A creditor had two debtors. One owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty. ince they could not pay it back, he graciously forgave them both. So, which of them will love him more? Simon answered, “I suppose the one he forgave more.” “You have judged correctly, “he told him. Turning to the woman, he said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I entered your house; you gave me no water for my feet, but she, with her tears, has washed my feet and wiped them with her hair. You gave me no kiss, but she hasn’t stopped kissing my feet since I came in. You didn’t anoint my head with olive oil, but she has anointed my feet with perfume. Therefore I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven; that’s why she loved much. But the one who is forgiven little, loves little.” Then he said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.” Those who were at the table with him began to say among themselves, “Who is this man who even forgives sins?” And he said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.”
I Timothy 2:1–6: First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for everyone, for kings and all those who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. This is good, and it pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all, a testimony at the proper time.
Matthew 19:23–26: Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly I tell you, it will be hard for a rich person to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again, I tell you; it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.” When the disciples heard this, they were utterly astonished and asked, “Then who can be saved?” Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Titus 3:3–8: For we too were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, enslaved by various passions and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, detesting one another. But when the kindness of God our Savior and his love for mankind appeared, he saved us—not by works of righteousness that we had done, but according to his mercy—through the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit He poured out his Spirit on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior so that, having been justified by his grace, we may become heirs with the hope of eternal life. This saying is trustworthy. I want you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed God might be careful to devote themselves to good works. These are good and profitable for everyone.”
James 4:7–8: Therefore, submit to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
Ephesians 4:27: “and don’t give the devil an opportunity.”
Ephesians 6:11–18: Put on the full armor of God so that you can stand against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers of this darkness, against evil, spiritual forces in the heavens. For this reason take up the full armor of God, so that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having prepared everything, to take your stand. Stand, therefore, with truth like a belt around your waist, righteousness like armor on your chest, and your feet sandaled with readiness for the gospel of peace. In every situation take up the shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit—which is the word of God. Pray at all times in the Spirit with every prayer and request, and stay alert with all perseverance and intercession for all the saints.”
Romans 8:38-39: 38: For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Walking forward in Faith Continues
As my dream lingers in my mind, I find comfort in the words that have guided countless believers: “Fear not, for I am with you.” Dreams occasionally shake my reality because they are so vivid and so real, but my faith remains steadfast. In faith, I choose to walk forward, and embrace this journey of life with courage for I know God guides me through the unknown with grace and love.
God Bless!
